What's new in Nomadia Delivery?

The new Nomadia Delivery application is designed to track the various stages in the delivery of a parcel. As an administrator, you can :

  • Find out where a parcel is
  • Check the status of a parcel
  • Export a parcel's history

With the democratisation of online shopping, the number of parcels to be delivered is exponential. Customers are accustomed and demanding. Delivery times must be as short as possible to guarantee customer satisfaction and reduce storage costs.

With Nomadia Delivery, users integrate and deliver the parcels they need to manage.

Once the parcels have been allocated to the available drivers, Nomadia's geographical intelligence is used to schedule deliveries and reduce the distance travelled.

 The Key configuration stages

Configuring agencies

As a manager, you want to recreate the organisation of your company with the different agencies that make it up.

From the Configuration ==> Manage agencies menu, you can create and edit the different agencies in your company.

When you import data in the future, you will be able to associate your jobs with one of the agencies and assign them the address of the associated agency as their starting address.

To create a new agency, fill in the following fields:

  • Identifier
  • Name
  • Address
  • Postcode
  • Town
  • Country

Configure users

As a manager, you want to set up a customised account for each of your resources.

For each resource, you enter the access to which it is entitled: web access for the back office and/or the mobile application.

You configure the logins and the connection password.

  • In the Roles and rights tab, you activate the functions available to the resource to create a customised interface.
  • In the Agency tab, you select the agencies to which the user will have access. In this way, only jobs attached to agencies to which the user has access will be visible.
  • In the Planning tab, you can edit the working hours of your resources so that they can be respected when making up rounds.
  • In the Days not worked tab, you can enter the days on which your resource does not work, so that they can be taken into account when creating tours.

Configuring sub-status

As a manager, you want to precisely configure the actions expected of your resources in the field depending on the situations encountered.

There are 9 available statuses generated natively by the application:

  • Waiting
  • Received
  • Not received
  • To be delivered
  • Loaded
  • Not loaded
  • Delivered
  • Not delivered
  • Deleted

For each of these statuses, the user can set up one or more sub-statuses.

A sub-status is characterised by a name and various mandatory or non-mandatory actions (taking photos, requesting a signature, comment, etc.).

Mission page UI

Integrating missions into Nomadia Delivery

As a planner, you want to import the missions to be processed.

The Jobs page is divided into 4 blocks:

  • Table
  • Map
  • Gantt
  • Details

From the Actions menu in the table, click on Import.

Start by dragging and dropping your file or browsing your directories to select the file to import.

This file contains the geographical information and attribute characteristics of the jobs.

By default, a mission is characterised by a delivery address and a collection address. Geographical information can be expressed in two ways:

  • Address + Postcode + Town
  • Longitude + Latitude

You can also link the pick-up address to a branch identifier to automatically retrieve the branch address.

Once the location data has been associated, match the columns in your Excel file with the constraints managed by Nomadia Delivery.

Pre-filtering missions to be viewed

As a scheduler, you want to be able to see which jobs have yet to be processed and which are currently being processed.

Nomadia Delivery can display up to 10,000 jobs simultaneously on the map and in the job table.

Each time a mission is imported, it is stored in the database. Users select the missions they want to manage on the mission page. Their display choices are saved from one connection to the next.

The display can be based on the creation date or the modification date.

The display selection is based on a time and/or geographical filter linked to the agencies set up in the account.

  • You log in every day to integrate the new assignments to be delivered and monitor the progress of previously integrated assignments. As you add jobs, the total number of jobs increases. You don't need to view all the jobs at once. By displaying only the assignments for a given period and/or agency, you optimise legibility and improve clarity.
  • Based on the display criteria selected, the application returns the number of assignments concerned. If the number exceeds the maximum threshold, only the first 10,000 assignments will be displayed.

Selecting missions

As a planner, you'll want to be able to select jobs easily from the map or the panel so you can process them quickly.

From the table

Missions can be filtered using the fields in the table. From the Actions Menu ==> customise the list you choose which fields to display.

The filter bar above the table lets you select jobs using the available criteria (status, town, weight, etc.).

From the map

Missions can also be selected one by one by clicking on the map or by group by drawing a polygon on the map.

Colouring missions

As a planner, you want to graphically distinguish between jobs using a colour code.

Each job has a delivery status which is associated with a colour code.

From the Actions menu in the table, you can choose a colour and associate it with specific business criteria to easily distinguish the jobs that are of particular interest to you.

By activating your custom colours, you deactivate the default colour associated with the delivery status.

Customisable quick selection buttons

As a scheduler, you frequently use filters to quickly select assignments that meet specific criteria.

To avoid having to rewrite the expressions of frequently used filters, Nomadia Delivery allows you to save and rename filters.

To save a filter, click on the funnel at the top right of the missions table. Rename it and click on the diskette.

To improve the user experience, Nomadia Delivery allows the user to pin clickable buttons to the top of the page corresponding to the saved filters.

By default, clickable buttons by delivery status are available and pinned in the interface. By clicking on the funnel at the top right of the table, you can choose which registered filters you wish to pin or not.

Create and following a route

Adding a mission to a route

As a planner, you create routes to deliver your jobs.

From the Missions page, you can view missions :

  • in the table
  • on the map
  • in the Gantt when routes are created

Start by selecting jobs by :

  • direct click in the table or on the map
  • attribute filter in the table
  • clicking on the shortcut buttons pinned at the top of the Missions page
Then, from the Actions menu, assign the jobs to a route and a delivery driver.

A window opens to set the parameters for :

  • the day of the tour
  • the tour name
  • departure time
  • the delivery driver
  • job scheduling

To optimise the tour order, activate "Order jobs automatically".

In the case of recurring tours where the order is known, you can integrate a Position column directly into your import file. To keep it, do not activate the "Order jobs automatically" option.

Adding to an existing route

As a planner, you have to deal with unforeseen circumstances and supplement existing tours with additional assignments.

It is possible to complete an existing tour with selected missions.

From the Actions menu, click on Assign. The settings window opens.

Select the tour date and the name of the existing tour so that you can add to it.

To insert additional jobs at the end of the tour, do not activate the "Order jobs automatically" option. However, to optimise the order of the various jobs, do activate the option.

Confirming delivery of a route

As a planner, you have to validate the delivery of the routes.

When you are satisfied with the routes you have created, you can validate them and share them on the mobile phone of the resources concerned.

Select the itinerary or itineraries you wish to validate and then click on Put in delivery from the Gantt Actions menu.

You can confirm that your tour has been validated when an icon appears next to the date of the delivery tour.

Monitoring the completion of a route

As a planner, I want to monitor the status of my tours as they are being carried out.

Once a tour has been delivered, you can track its progress from the Completion page.

The page is divided into several blocks to give you an overview:

  • schedule
  • map
  • schedule

A details block gives you a quick overview of the number of resources in the field. Key progress indicators are available for each resource.

The mobile app

Dashboard

The dashboard gives users access to all their actions for the day, enabling them to manage their operations and track their progress in real time.

It gives them :

  • An overview of the day in progress.
  • The progress of their own rounds and their activity in the depot.

Depending on the application's settings, users can be in delivery mode and/or depot agent mode.

Receiving parcels at the depot

Receiving parcels is an important first step in the parcel delivery management process.

It is used to initialise all parcels received. This function allows you to scan a parcel or container (pallet/carton or other) to validate receipt.

The status of your different parcels then changes to received with the date, time and place of receipt.

This information enables the parcels to be traced in the back-office part of the solution as soon as they are received.

== Content ==

Docking

The user will be able to prepare and dock the various parcels to be put on tour.

This function can be accessed from the menu, in the "docking" tab.

Rounds have different statuses (waiting, in progress, prepared) depending on their progress.

A prepared tour is marked with a green dot to indicate that it has already been prepared.

As soon as a route is selected, a list of all the parcels to be prepared is displayed, so the agent has to scan all the parcels on the route to validate its preparation.

== Content ==

Route

The delivery driver can consult the routes for his day or for a selected date and then carry them out. As soon as the route is selected, the driver has access to :

  • Departure/arrival time
  • The route
  • Distance to be covered
  • Time slots to be respected

Several options are available: you can load/deliver parcels, or view your route on the map with all the important information. Every stage, from loading to delivery, is optimised to require as few clicks as possible.

Depending on the application's settings, the delivery driver has several actions to carry out, including proof of delivery (photos), comments/marks and the final customer's signature.

== Content ==

Return to depot

At the end of the day, the depot return module scans parcels that have not been delivered.

The parcels are then returned to the depot. At this stage, the parcels are time-stamped and made available again for delivery.
