Select objects

Objects may be points or geographic objects

Objects selected on the map can be found in the Selection tab in the table.

Select all objects in the map

  • In the toolbar, click on tm-reference-img/bouton_tout_selectionner.png

Select all objects in one or several sectors

  • In the table pane, click on the checkbox for the chosen sector
  • If required, repeat the previous step to select other sectors

Select objects on the map

  • Click on the Selection icon tm-reference-img/commun/icone_selection.png in the map
  • Choose the selection mode suited to your current task

Freehand

Objects positioned close to one another

Draw on the screen the zone containing the objects to select.
All the objects included in, or intersecting, this drawing are selected.
Press the CTRL key on the keyboard to add a zone to the selection.

With a mouse-click

One object or several separate objects

Click on the object to select.
Add an object to the selection by pressing the CTRL key.
If several points are located on the same geographic coordinates, they will all be selected.

With a circle

Objects located at an equal distance from a central point

Click at the centre of the circle to be drawn to define the zone. A distance value displays to show the imprint of the circle.
All objects included or intersecting this circle are selected.
To select several zones at the same time, hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard during the selection procedure.

With a rectangle

Zone of objects

Click on one of the extremities of the rectangle, to extend the zone.
All objects included in or intersecting this rectangle are selected.
To select several zones at the same time, hold down the CTRL key on the keyboardduring the selection procedure.

With a polygon

Zone of objects

Click on one of the extremities of the rectangle,to extend the zone.
All objects included in or intersecting this rectangle are selected.
To select several zones at the same time, hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard during the selection procedure.

Select objects from the table

To filter the objects in advance, see the Create a Search filter section.

  • In the table, in the Sector tab, hover with the cursor over the line of the chosen sector
  • Click on the Display sector details icon
  • Click on the checkbox for the chosen objects
[Note] Note

You can make a multiple selection by clicking on the checkbox of the first object to be selected and clicking on the last object to be selected while using the Shift/Maj key on the keyboard.

[Tip] Tip

Example of use: From the example dataset, sort the points of a sector on the field Trip distance to territory (in km) and select all points less than 10 kilometers.
